Solar powered products have become increasingly more popular over the past few years. With the urge and fight to reduce global warming and reduce our footprint, companies from all over have been creating solar powered products. Although the process will take time to implement in all areas, new solar powered products open up the door for innovation. Some well-known solar powered products include, roofing, trashcans, chargers, lamps, calculators and much more.

A new video detailing a new solar-powered product has been making waves all over the Internet. Solar Roadways could be the new, environmentally friendly product that would replace our roadways, parking lots, sidewalks, etc. The new roadways would eliminate a majority of the concrete and asphalt surfaces. With these eliminated and replaced with solar panels, traffic, construction, accidents would all be reduced.

The roadways would consist of panels that contained LED lighting that are covered with double-layered glass. These panels would be able to hold up to 250,000 pounds. The texture of the panels would also prevent skidding and sliding, preventing many fender benders. The panels would be able to light up roadway lines, melt snow and ice, generate cleaner energy, and much more.

Julie and Scott Brusaw are the inventors and founders of the Solar Roadways. This couple has reached out to Indiegogo, to raise money for their project. Their project has raised over $1.8 million so far, making it one of the most successful campaigns. The campaign has not lost interest, and does not seem like it will fade any time soon. With the money they raise, the Brusaw’s will test out their product in a larger scale, hire more engineers, and perfect their product!
