If there is one thing I love more than chocolate, it’s inspiration. If there is one thing I love more than Jennifer Lawrence movies, it’s Jennifer Lawrence herself. Mix inspiration with Jennifer Lawrence and a big dash of Bradley Cooper and you get Silver Linings Playbook. They star along supporting actors Robert Deniro, Julia Stiles, and Chris Tucker. The dramedy is to be released nation-wide on November 21, but has already premiered to critical acclaim at the Toronto International Film Festival. I hear Oscar Buzz!!!
Silver Linings Playbook is based off of a seriocomic novel of the same name. Here’s the gist of the film: After a stint in a mental institution, former teacher Pat Solitano (Cooper) moves back in with his parents and tries to reconcile with his ex-wife. Things get more challenging when Pat meets Tiffany (Lawrence), a mysterious girl with problems of her own. This second trailer gets more into the serious evolution of Pat’s life and his blooming relationship with Tiffany. For example, we see that Pat’s wife took on a lover and left him, Tiffany slept with co-workers to cope with her husband’s death, and that they both have no control over their emotions or filter for their words. Talk about “perfect for each other.” They really find their, you guessed it, silver linings in each other.
Silver Linings Playbook appears to be a roller coaster ride just by watching this trailer. Better get your tissue ready, but don’t be drinking anything either. Snot and spittakes are not attractive.
Make sure to watch Silver Linings Playbook when it comes out next month!
