Where there are politicians and elections, comedy soon follows them. When it comes to political humor, no one does it better or more fearlessly than Saturday Night Live. Granted, comedy is a very trial and error medium of entertainment. What one person finds hilarious, another may think it not worth emoting for. Saturday Night Live is no stranger to this possibility, but they struck infinite gold with this little bit.

This election has been revolving around certain issues, one of them being women’s rights or as others like to call it, reproductive rights. The abortion question came up during the Vice Presidential debate last week. During the Weekend Update bit, Nasim Pedrad reprised her impersonation of Arianna Huffington to comment on the Vice Presidential debate and its topics. If it were not funny enough to hear her come onto Seth Meyers and call him her “little potato pancake” and “my baba ghanoush,” when he asks her what she thought about the fact that moderator Martha Raddatz asked the male VP candidates about abortion, she replies that she was dissatisfied with that decision since they were males and knew nothing of reproductive rights first hand. She then goes on to say the best thing I heard all week: “If men could get pregnant, abortion clinics would be like a Starbucks. There would be two in every block and four in every airport, and the morning after pill would come in different flavors like sea salt and cool ranch.” Saturday Night Live is definitely not scared of pulling out some big guns.

I have always been a fan of Saturday Night Live, but I was extra glad that they went and did this. This is now my second favorite skit in Saturday Night Live history.
