If you’re a fan of Twilight, you might just be a fan of Robert Pattinson. The English heartthrob is best known for his portrayal of brooding vampire Edward Cullen in the film adaptations of Stephenie Meyer’s fictional world of the Twilight saga. While I have read the book and seen the movies, I must say that I am not a Twi-hard. Robert Pattinson sure isn’t either. If you have seen interviews with him since filming began for the first Twilight film in 2008, then you probably know that he has mostly trashed his character of Edward Cullen more than defending or hailing him. While it might be sarcasm or humor some times, he is very aware of how creepy Edward Cullen can be and how weird the storyline of the series really is.

These kinds of interviews have spawned many a joke and internet meme, but a Youtube user, Andrew Gauthier, has compiled some of these under the name “Robert Pattinson Is Happy Twilight Is Over.” It has already had more than 3.2 million views. In the video, we can see the timeline of how much Robert Pattinson doesn’t love Twilight as much as the fans do. It spans interviews from 2008 to 2012 and all the comments are quite hilarious. I happen to think that Robert Pattinson does better, acting-wise, in non-Twilight films. Now that it’s all over, and the release of Breaking Dawn: Part II is official, I’m pretty sure he will steer clear of YA book-based films and concentrate on scripts with better characters, or at least that is what I hope. I’m rooting for you, Rob.
