King, the makers of the popular game Farm Heroes Saga, have released a commercial airing on their Facebook and YouTube accounts.

Previously in Japan, they have released a TV commercial featuring Candy Crush Saga, and within three days the game jumped to number one!  With the rise of the mobile gaming industry, it is quite possible that game developers may begin to use different marketing channels to reach new audiences and increase downloads.

There are many pros and cons that come with the production of commercials, especially in an industry that is still maturing.  We will have to wait to see if game developers can justify the costs of production to the potential audiences and downloads they may receive.  Until then, we may begin seeing more companies and game developers imitate what King has done and advertise through the use of social media and other internet outlets.
